I'm Judy Johnson, a watercolor artist in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I live with my husband Wayne, and a cute little white dog named Addie, in a house at the edge of the woods in rural Skandia. The three of us walk in the woods most everyday—in the winter, we snowshoe.
I collect moss, leaves, twigs, and photographs, while my husband eyes up any dead trees for next year's woodpile, and Addie hunts for any sign of a rabbit or fox.
Hopefully, after spending some time at MADE IN SKANDIA, you'll feel like we just took a wonderful walk together through the woods back to the hemlock grove to see all the chickadees flittering from branch to branch feeding on the pinecone seeds.
